The daylily "Savannah Fire Chief" is a beautiful variety got from Marietta Gardens, fllowing is their page http://www.mariettagardens.com/ . First time I saw this variety on their page, and attracted by the color like fire. The flower photo on their page is with bright red, orange, and green-yellow color. But when it bloomed in my garden, the flowers are with darker red than the photo on Marietta Gardens page. The changed color is due to different planting conditions, maybe temperature, soil pH, or other unknown factors. I will give its asexual budding to one friend to observe its blooming color.
Ascocentrum miniatum and Asco. christensonianum are also lovely and easily cultivated species. They like bright light, especially Asco. christensonianum. But because I placed it to the dark position, the leaves are green and the quantity of flowers is not to the level it can. Now I just changed its position to where full sun light, and wish I could see more flowers next year spring.
PS. I just found the wrong name of the orange flowers of Ascocentrum species which this page showed. Its true name is Asco. miniatum, not Asco.aurantiacum.
